Jesus and PornSample

You know, in a movie, when a group of soldiers are fighting for their lives, and suddenly, the enemy comes upon them to attack, someone always shouts, “Fallback!!! Fallback!!!” They are really saying: flee!!, escape!!, run for your lives!! When you are facing temptation, you gotta fall back!! Don’t just stand there and get destroyed by porn; run from it!! Genesis 39:6b-12 says, “Joseph was a very handsome and well-built young man, and Potiphar’s wife soon began to look at him lustfully. “Come and sleep with me,” she demanded. But Joseph refused. “Look,” he told her, “my master trusts me with everything in his entire household. No one here has more authority than I do. He has held back nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How could I do such a wicked thing? It would be a great sin against God.” Potiphar’s wife continued tempting Joseph by putting pressure on him day after day, but he refused to sleep with her, and he kept out of her way as much as possible. One day, however, no one else was around and he went in to do his work. Potiphar’s wife came and grabbed him by his cloak, demanding, “Come on, sleep with me!” Joseph tore himself away, but he left his cloak in her hand as he ran from the house.” What does that passage teach us about Joseph? 1. Joseph teaches us to flee porn. 2. Joseph teaches us to run from temptation. 3. Joseph teaches us to stand firm when tempted. Daily Challenge: Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you resist (and stay far away from) the temptation of porn. Prayer: “ Holy Spirit, this addiction has taken over me, and it is hard to resist temptation alone. Without you, I am weak and need you more than ever. I ask you to help me resist and overcome against porn. In Jesus’ name. Amen!”
