Lessons From DavidSample

CHARACTER PRODUCED IN OBSCURITY
David didn't start out being well-known and famous. In fact, he was overlooked by his family. He was a shepherd boy tending to sheep all alone. But it was there that he grew his relationship with God and developed his character.
Sometimes we can view obscurity as a negative thing, but many times God wants to hide us so that He can produce character inside of us to prepare us for what He ultimately has for us.
David recognized this. As he finally came to his first big moment with Goliath, he acknowledged the fact that God was preparing him during all those lonely moments in the field for this moment in the spotlight.
Be encouraged today: If it seems like you are overlooked or in obscurity, perhaps it is God's blessing and opportunity to develop character needed for what is to come next.
