Dedication: Doing the Daily Work of God’s Will
Reflect
Not everyday is spectacular. But there is always simple, daily work to be done. Joseph spent seven years of his life overseeing preparations for the famine. That time may have felt monotonous or thankless, but God used Joseph’s daily dedication to save many lives.
When Jesus was on Earth, everyone wanted to see Him do the miraculous, and He did perform miracles from time to time. But much of His ministry was made up of seemingly unremarkable work. He visited the sick, had dinner with all sorts of people and spent time in prayer. These quiet, routine moments are hallmarks of a faithful life. Jesus calls us to consistent faithfulness.
React
1. What does daily faithfulness look like for you?
2. When have you seen God work through simple, routine moments?
3. Is there an “unremarkable” discipline God is calling you to practice right now?
