Heaven Knows What You Need Do you think that you know what you need? The Easter story, the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is one of the most significant and powerful events in human history. It speaks of hope, redemption, and new life. Through the events leading up to the resurrection, we can see that heaven knows exactly what we need. In the gospel of Matthew, we read that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to view the tomb. The other Mary was probably the mother of James and Joseph, mentioned in Matthew 27:56. They went after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning. And as they approached the tomb, there was a violent earthquake, and the angel of the Lord descended from heaven. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards were so shaken by fear that they became like dead men. But the angel told the women not to be afraid. He knew that they were looking for Jesus, who was crucified. And then he proclaimed the good news, that Jesus was not there. He has risen. This passage reminds us that heaven knows exactly what we need. We may think we need food, water, shelter, and other material things to live. While these things are important, they do not satisfy our deepest longings. We also need purpose, peace, joy, and a community of believers who can encourage us in our faith. God knows our hearts. He knows what we truly need, what we are looking for. And just like the angel proclaimed the good news to the women, God proclaims good news to us today. We may try to find fulfillment in the things of this world, like material possessions, wealth, or power. But true fulfillment can only be found in a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. He gives us purpose, peace, and joy, and a community of believers that can encourage us in our faith. So, as we journey through life, let us focus on Jesus. Let us seek Him with all our hearts and trust that He knows exactly what we need. And as we do this, we can find hope, redemption, and new life in Him. He is risen and alive. And that is the greatest news that we could ever receive.
