Reality TV shows where people sing in front a panel of famous judges can be very entertaining. Occasionally there’s someone who thinks they’re a good singer. Maybe all their family and friends have encouraged them that they can sing, but it’s clear to the judges and everyone watching at home that this person cannot sing.

We can have all kinds of big dreams, but the dreams that really matter are the ones that God has purposed for us. God has given each of us gifts and talents. It might be singing, or we might be gifted at being an encouraging friend, a kind helper or a good leader. Yes, like every person who dreams of singing, reaching our dreams takes hard work and practice. When your dreams are fueled by God’s purposes, then it’s likely those gifts and talents God gave you will be right in line with your dreams.

Joseph’s dreams had a God given purpose. His dreams helped others, a whole nation in fact!
