When we hear the term “eternal life,” we typically think of Heaven or an afterlife when we are no longer alive. But God’s love and the gift of Jesus here on earth are about far more than just what happens after the earth and the afterlife. It’s about right here and right now. Eternal life doesn’t start later. It’s eternal, which means it is happening at this moment. The question is, are we participating in it? Are we waiting for an afterlife? Or are we participating in eternal life where we are? God’s love isn’t a bonus for later. It’s for life today. How does the reality of how much God loves the world affect how you interact with the world?
