Start the Party - High SchoolSample

If we could envision the life we want, we would probably think about the car we’d want, the house, the vacation house, the private plane, the private island…you get the idea. That sounds like the life! But in his letter to a young leader named Timothy, Paul talks about a different kind of wealth that has nothing to do with our finances. He talks about being rich in kindness and goodness, then says, “so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” In other words, the best kind of life isn’t measured by the way we commonly think. True life is a life that’s rich in a different way—rich in things like kindness, love, and self-control (just to name a few).
Today, talk with a trusted adult about how to begin living more of this kind of life. Maybe it’s serving, donating items, or having a fundraiser for an organization you care about. Whatever ideas you come up with, remember that we all have what we need to be rich in good deeds.
