Face to Face With Jesus - a Lenten MeditationSample

We try to explain suffering or at least try and understand it. Many times though, there is no explanation for why we go through what we go through. It may be better to remain silent and allow God to complete the work He has begun in us so that His glory is revealed in and through us. As hard as it may be to accept, suffering does more good for us than success ever could. It refines our rough edges, builds endurance, grows our prayer life and makes us more sensitive to the movement of God in our lives. Maybe, like that man in today’s text, you have been told that your suffering is because of sin in your life or in your family line. It’s your choice to come to Jesus and ask Him how He will bring glory out of your impossibly hard situation.
Questions to ask yourself
Have you felt your suffering was for nothing?
Did glory emanate from any of your life seasons thus far?
