How to Continue Experiencing Jesus After the WeekendSample

The lights begin to fade, the theatre quiets down, and the movie begins. The room is packed as people watch together the new movie all about “Oh-oh. My life?” Yes, a movie all about your life. What is on the screen? What are the most important scenes?
Our scripture reading today makes it clear that the most crucial scene in any of our lives is when we are lowered into the waters of baptism. Is that scene in your movie? Did that scene change the rest of the film? Baptism is how we show others that we are not the main character.
It sounds backward, but when we accept Jesus as the one who rescued us from our sins and who is now in charge of our lives, He becomes the main character, and all throughout the movie called life, we are just pointing people to Him. God did not send Jesus to make “bad people” or “good people.” God sent Jesus to make a way for “dead people” to become alive!
We are only fully alive and experiencing this life to its fullest potential when we allow God to have center stage. Where in your life have you told God to stay backstage instead of the center stage? Tell Him you are sorry and ask for His help to live for Him today. Are you still living in the spotlight of your life?
Maybe you need to reach out to someone at church about getting baptized and letting Him be the main character.
