Studying God’s Word Study the Bible? Why, isn’t reading it enough? I anyway listen to a sermon from God’s Word every Sunday. I really don’t have time. These are some of the excuses people make when asked if they study God’s Word, the Bible. The Creator of heaven and earth, the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, the One who owns all the silver and gold on this earth and the One who so carefully made you and me has left us His manual to go by, the Bible. When we purchase an expensive product, it comes with an instruction booklet, which helps you get the best out of it. Similarly, God’s Word has been left by Him, for us to live life successfully here on this earth. Through His Word, we can have a healthy relationship with our Creator and Maker which He Himself longs for. In Hosea 4:6a (KJV), God says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” God’s own people were ignoring His Word, resulting in them going astray and God ignoring them as priests, and their children too. The biggest blow I could receive is God ignoring me and my family. God is my backbone and oxygen in this life. I read His Word and study it, so I can teach people His ways. In the past, intelligent men and women, as well as the simple and ignorant have become successful as they have studied God’s Word. God will never go against His Word. It always comes to pass. It has stood the test of time. Today, God Almighty is asking you to study His Word and get to know Him better. You have everything to gain if you do. God bless you! Prayer Heavenly Father, Your Word is truth. Grant me a deep hunger and desire for Your Word, just to know You more and enjoy a relationship with You. I make this prayer, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
