Light Up Your Life Have you ever entered a dark room, looking for something? You instinctively reach out for the light switch, don’t you? Suddenly, the darkness turns to light and phew… you breathe a sigh of relief! This is what happens when you hear God’s Word and receive it into your heart with faith. It brings hope out of hopelessness, clarity out of confusion and joy out of sorrow. Before I received Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior, I knew I was a miserable sinner, destined for hell. One day, I heard a preacher say that God’s arm was not too short to save, but my sin had separated me from God (Isaiah 59:1-2). He also said, that God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to save us from hell and give us everlasting life (John 3:16). That word shot through me like a bright light, shining into the darkness of my heart. I had sunk into despair and aimlessness. And, in a flash, my life took a different turn. God’s Word entered my heart, bringing hope and meaning to my life. I was instantly healed too, of a physical ailment that, my doctor said, could lead to cancer. The Bible says that God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). God speaks to us and directs our lives when we believe His Word and put it into practice in our daily walk with Him. You might be feeling lonely, fearful of the future, or in physical pain. No matter how impossible your situation, allow God’s Word to light up your life. Believe His Word, receive it by faith, and you will see your darkness turn to light. Prayer Heavenly Father, let Your Word be a light that shines brightly, giving me understanding and teaching me to live a life that pleases You. Amen.
