Worth the Wait Joseph was only 17 when God showed him this dream. His brothers hated him when they heard him describing it and put him away from their lives. Joseph went through years of struggle and testing. Yet each time he was put through a test, he came out victorious. As Joseph patiently trusted the Lord and fled from every temptation, God not only showed him dreams, but also enabled him with the gift of interpreting them. Therefore, he found favor in the eyes of others. This led Joseph to become the chief in Pharaoh’s house and, years later, Joseph’s brothers came to him in search of food. Thus, they bowed before him fulfilling the dream. It took 13 long years for that dream to come to pass. You can be fearful when you don’t know what to expect. When you feel everything has been stripped away. When you feel there is no hope. When you wonder how much longer you have to wait. But it’s in those moments that you experience God’s faithfulness. It’s just like waiting for a promotion for a long time and finally when you receive it, realizing it’s much bigger and better than you imagined. Waiting can be painful but it is surely worth it. So no matter what is going on in our life right now or what will happen in the future, we can know that all things will work out for our best. Nothing we go through is ever in vain. It just prepares us for what is yet to come. Prayer Lord, help me trust You and strengthen me to hold on to Your promises. Enable me to pass through the waiting period and never give up. Amen.
