Reaching the Unreached Paul “planted” the gospel in new territory where others, like Apollos, would then “water” (1 Cor. 3:6). From Jerusalem around to northern Greece, Paul had “fully preached the gospel of Christ” (Rom. 15:19). Now he must find new territory in the western part of the Roman Empire where the gospel had not yet been preached. Today the challenge of “frontier missions” remains. Over 80 percent of North American Protestant missionaries are, like Apollos, watering seed planted by others. The need is not to redeploy existing missionaries. It is to deploy many new missionaries to peoples yet unreached with the gospel. Therefore, let’s urgently pray the Lord of the harvest to send forth workers into unreached areas, especially the “10/40 window” (bounded from west to east by the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans between 10 and 40 degrees north latitude). Within this “window” are found the vast majority of unreached Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist groups. Pray for breakthroughs of the gospel with “mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God” (Rom. 15:19).
