Satan’s Lies; God’s Truth: Satan Is a Liar Don’t you just hate being lied to? I don’t like it when my kids try it on me. I hate that feeling of being manipulated, when someone is setting me up and making me out to be a fool. I don’t like bogus e-mails. I don’t like it when I feel I’m being hustled by a salesperson. I don’t like being panhandled and guilted with phony stories into coughing up money. You know, the king of liars is Satan, the devil himself. His ultimate goal is to destroy you spiritually, to separate you from God and keep you enslaved in your sins. So he tells you lies about yourself and about God. He would like to keep you confused, doubting, and depressed. Jesus tells you the truth. He says in John 8:44 that the devil has “no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Jesus not only speaks the truth; He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and his truth will set us free.
