The People of God: The Story of the ChurchSample

The Exodus story is one of redemption, with God not only leading the people out of slavery but bringing them on a journey towards them becoming a nation. Our passage for today shows God revealing himself to Moses and promising to lead the people out of Egypt and into his plan for them.
The people of God must know the God they are serving, so he reveals himself as Yahweh: the Lord. He is going to use the story of the exodus to define what kind of God he is. This is the same God who we worship today, who revealed himself in Jesus and led humanity on an ‘exodus’ from sin and death.

About this Plan

What is the story of the church? This plan is a month-long journey through the Bible, looking at how God uses people, situations, and symbols to bring about communion between God and humanity once again. It follows the story of Israel and then the early church, highlighting the church's hope for resurrection and new creation and our role as agents of that new creation.
