Through the Bible: 1 2 3 JohnSample

How Should We Live?
If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. 1 John 2:4-6 (NLT)
People would often ask questions like, “What is the will of God in my life?” Before focusing on any specific task, plan, or outcome, let’s return to the fundamentals and fix our eyes on Jesus. As John mentioned, those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. How did Jesus live His life on earth? The four Gospels show Jesus living a life filled with faith, love, piety, obedience, and self-sacrifice. As believers, we are to live like Jesus, to carry our cross daily and follow Him. Despite the difficulty, opposition, or even persecution, we know we only need to live like Jesus–to love God and people. God is our good, sovereign, heavenly Father–He will handle the rest.
Prayer
Father God, thank You for choosing us to be Your children and sending Jesus, who is the perfect representation of Yourself. We thank You for the Holy Spirit that we are empowered to live like Jesus, partner with You, and bring transformation to the community You have sent us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
About this Plan

The communities Apostle John pastored were filled with internal dissensions, false teachings self-claimed to be from the Spirit, and fake Christians who had depraved lifestyles. John wrote these letters to call readers to focus on the truth, discerning between the true and false teachings and between Christian and un-Christian behavior. The church door is open to all, but having the discernment to single out the pseudo-Christians is especially important.
