Want to hear a hot take that we don't say enough? Everyday conversations with our friends and other people can be challenging. Sometimes the phrase, "Just go talk to them!" implies that sharing the good news of Jesus will be easy and that everyone will connect right away. As we know, that's often not the case. Even talking to friends can be challenging — so when we add faith into the mix, it can open tough conversations. We might even ask ourselves, "Do they even care? What will they say?"
Jesus encountered this when he talked to people about the good news available to everyone. Some people loved what he said, some were interested, but others got so mad that they chased after him! Jesus knew what it was like when conversations didn't go well. Two things we saw when these happened are: Jesus didn't stop sharing God's love, and he had friends to talk with when others did not receive things.
What comfort might you need after a conversation where your faith story wasn't received well?

About this Plan

We all want to make a difference! We dream of making an impact and making the world a better place. The people who’ve made the biggest differences did it with other people. Jesus gave his followers a mission that would change the world — not as individuals, but as a group on a mission together. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll explore this mission.
