Real Hope: When God Says NoSample

No Obvious Answer
Hmm, this is tricky in reality because we do know that God doesn’t always say yes immediately, and sometimes He says no and sometimes not yet. Easy in theory, but hard in practice. When we’re in the midst of tough and hard and trying and stressful things and we’re crying out to God and wanting/needing an answer, we want to be heard and we need a response ‘now’ to affirm our prayers.
But God hears us, be reassured. He hears us always. The short prayers, the long prayers, the quiet prayers, and the out loud prayers. He hears us.
What I’ve learnt this year is that while I’m waiting for God’s response I pray the words in 2 Thessalonians – I pray for God’s peace. This helps me focus on Him and settles my worries and doubts and helps me know that God is there for me, even just in His peace. Similarly the words from Matthew 28 are also ones we can rely on. God encourages us to come to Him. God is answering and we can see it in these two short passages.
Come before God, bring your prayers and know that He hears and answers. We can rely on His peace and His gentleness. That truly is an answer to prayer.

About this Plan

God saying ‘No’. It’s not something we really want to think about God saying to us. Even a ‘Not yet’ is better than a ‘No’. But the reality is sometimes God says ‘No’. As we wrestle with this topic in this plan, we hope you’ll see how our sovereign God is writing a story on our lives that is far greater than we can even think, dream or imagine.
