5 Minutes with God: WisdomSample

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
When times are good, be happy. But when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one time as well as the other so that mortals cannot predict their future.
Ecclesiastes 7:14 GW
Human nature tells us to be thankful when we are happy and to find someone to blame when we are not. God is often the one who gets the blame for our unhappiness. After all, he is in control of everything, so why do bad things happen?
It is not God’s fault—it is his wisdom. God knows what he is doing, even if we do not. He is teaching us to trust in him and not our circumstances. A relationship with God is like a marriage—we follow him for better or worse. Tough times help us remember to depend on God and not ourselves.
Grow in Wisdom Today
Thank God that he is in control of your circumstances, especially when you feel that you are not. Trust in his wisdom.
