How to Know the Holy SpiritSample

Contrary to some beliefs, you don't gain the Holy Spirit if you receive the baptism of tongues, but instead when you surrender your life to Christ. The package of salvation not only includes eternal life but also something vital to success in our Christian life–the power of the Holy Spirit. Through this gift, we can make God's Kingdom evident on earth by learning how to walk and work with God. However, when you first get saved that does not mean that you automatically know how to walk and have intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Like the lame man at the temple gate, we are incapacitated without the Holy Spirit working through us. Walking in the Holy Spirit means knowing and living with Him by building a close, one-on-one relationship with Him. It requires time, communication, and pursual just like learning to walk after the event of your birth. You are born with legs but you have to practice your walking. Today's Challenge Today, ask the Lord to help you learn more and more about how to bring His Kingdom's power and glory here to earth. Desire above all else to work with His Holy Spirit to reach and witness to people and share how great He is. May your intimacy grow and bring you closer to Him.
