Life Lessons - Psalms

DAY 3 OF 5

## GOD’S JUSTICE There is a cynical expression circulating in society that honest people are doomed. This saying may have some truth in it as it is not uncommon for us to find those who live in honesty and truth to experience misfortune. Law and justice are twisted for the benefit of certain parties without considering the truth. This is nothing new. Since the fall of man into sin, what is right was redefined by him. David often faced unfair treatment from the people around him. Psalm 7 is described as David's song of lamentation because of what Cush, the Benjaminite, did. It seems that David suffered injustice because Cush slandered David. The Bible does not explain Cush's slander against David, but it is clear that David was very disturbed by Cush's slander. The slander is described as a lion trying to pounce and drag David to destroy him. David did not fight this injustice head-on, but turned to the Lord. He opened himself before the Lord and asked God to test him whether he had done evil as to what the slander said. He knew that God is a just judge who would not compromise on unrighteousness. David did not want to be a judge over those who slandered him. He didn’t want to defend himself either. He left his case to God and believed that God would show His justice. David did not fight those who slandered him but proved his sincerity before God. Maybe the world in which we live has deviated from the truth, but the Lord does not want us to live in compromise. God's truth will not change, even if we try to live in the truth and end up in misfortune. He is a just judge who will judge according to His righteousness.
