It’s wild to think Jesus was not only present when everything was made, but that all of creation continues to exist because of Him. Take a second and imagine a river in your mind. It’s beautiful, full of wildlife and plants. Now pretend that if you were to stop thinking about that river, it would disappear out of existence. It’s impossible! Imagine the power it must take for things to continue because of you. That’s how big God is. Commit this verse (Colossians 1:17) to memory by writing it down and putting it somewhere you will see it every day. Use your phone’s home screen or a sticky note on your mirror. Every time you see it, read it out loud (or in your head if you’re in public—because out loud might be awkward).
