Through the Bible: Acts

DAY 5 OF 13

## Clean and Unclean > “What God has made clean, do not call common.” > And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” > Acts10:15, 11:18 (ESV) In Acts 10 we learn the account of Peter’s supernatural vision is not about God’s okay to eat unclean animals, but to prepare Peter’s heart to overcome Jewish tradition of prejudices in the first century against the Gentiles, who were regarded as the uncircumcised and the unclean. This attitude was unbiblical and not from the heart of the Father. God had always desired a relationship with all people in every nation; anyone who fears Him and does what is right (Acts 10:34-35). Peter received the revelation and came to understand no one was outside of God’s grace, that God makes clean the repentant hearts of people whom the Jews consider to be unclean. God’s plan was for Cornelius and his household to be baptised into the Church of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ Gospel is for everyone, not just the Jews. May our hearts seek to understand, be ready to obey what the Holy Spirit is revealing, and to trust God is unchanging and always true to His precepts. ### Prayer Dear Abba Father, thank You for Your love never changes, reaching out to grant us repentance that leads to life in Christ. We are made righteous, cleansed by Jesus’ blood, Hallelujah!
