Billy Graham on MoneySample

The right use of money
“No matter how rich or poor we are, we should use our money wisely and thoughtfully.”
There are people on every spot of the socio-economic spectrum who have chosen not to give much thought to their finances.
I’ve heard statements like, “I have so little money, using it wisely won’t make a difference,” and “I have so much money, I don’t need to use it wisely.”
And then even, “I am doing fine financially, so I just don’t think about it much at all.”
But what if God wants us to be thinking about how we use our money?
Proverbs 27:23-24 NKJV guides us. “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, And attend to your herds; For riches are not forever...”
And at first glance, this might seem unrelated, but when you consider that livestock was one of the earliest forms of currency and a store of wealth, it makes perfect sense.
This isn’t an instruction for farmers; this verse from Proverbs is an instruction on money.
With that in mind, regardless of your financial situation, let’s pray to use our money with more wisdom and thoughtfulness.
God, please give me wisdom on using my money in a way that best honors and glorifies you, regardless of how much I have in my bank accounts. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
