Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample

Looking to a Heavenly Kingdom
Political injustice is not a new phenomenon. It has existed since the world chose to be ruled by humans instead of God. It can take many different forms and can look different from country to country, but it has one root. From the very first man made king when sin entered the political arena, it has been plagued by broken, deceitful, and selfish people. However, earthly kingdoms and political structures don’t last. They all come to an end, or their power is transferred to someone else. When they do, we can celebrate God’s deliverance from the unjust. In the end, only God’s kingdom will reign forever, and we can trust in His steadfast love of justice for His people.
GO DEEP: Spend a few minutes in prayer for your political leaders from the municipal to the federal level. Pray that God would help them to govern justly, based on a foundation of heavenly wisdom. Pray for the countries that surround yours, that God would help them to prosper. Pray for the nations that need God to intervene. Ask for forgiveness for the times we've chosen man’s leadership over God's.
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
