DAY 8 OF 14

## From Disappointment to Peace Lord, disappointments, discouragements are very real, and we experience them almost every day. We are disappointed with our situations, with ourselves, with people in our lives, and the list can go on. In our disappointment, we tend to believe that things cannot get better, or that life is all done and over. Especially when things are difficult, we often lose our focus on you, Lord, and end up focusing on the challenges before us, thus becoming sad, depressed, bitter, and discouraged. Help us, Lord, to be able to trust you, rejoicing in you in all situations. Help us meditate and train our thoughts on you and your word. Give us, Lord, increasing love and reverence for your word. Help us, Lord, to turn our thoughts toward you; to meditate on you and your word rather than our challenging situations. Help us, Lord, to trust you and remain faithful to you, waiting on you for your perfect time and will. Fill our hearts and minds with you and your peace, we pray. > Joshua 1:8 – This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. > Philippians 4:8-9 – Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Ponder this: Who or what is the subject of my meditation?
