Bible in a YearSample

So as I said before, 1 and 2 Samuel were originally one book. Now that you’ve finished the first half, here’s some info on the second:
-This book details David’s reign as king over Israel.
-David ruled a united Israel for 33 years; this is approximately the same length of time Jesus lived on the earth.
-David is an example of faith: not in his obedience or virtue but in his repeated mistakes as a sinful human and his repeated penitence to the Lord.
-2 Samuel chapter 7 sees the Davidic Covenant, where God promises a Messiah to Israel, through the line of David. This is a key point in scripture.
-David lives halfway between Abraham and the first coming of Jesus.
