A Journey of Trust: American UnderdogSample

The Very Things That Got You Here
Have you had moments when you feel like you have no idea what is going on? Those times where you end up in a place you did not plan for nor desire to be. Then, sometime later, you see how God uses that experience for something much more significant. In the movie, Kurt’s coach, Dick Vermeil, said: “All of those years gave me something others didn’t have. Made me ready for this moment.”
The Bible has examples of similar stories. Think of all that Jacob went through before he could finally marry Rachel or the path of Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers only to be in a position to save their lives later. When you reach the high points in your life, remember what God used to bring you to that point with gratitude. God often uses the lessons you learned in the uncertain moments when you had no idea what was going on.
Application Questions:
- What have been some of your life’s low points that God used?
- Why is it difficult to keep a perspective that God is at work when you have no idea what is going on?
About this Plan

The Bible contains many stories of people God uses in incredible ways. The path is often not easy. Life's low points are preparation for something much more significant. The story of NFL football great Kurt Warner has a similar theme. It is a modern-day story of someone who believed and trusted God amid shattered dreams. This plan ties Biblical concepts into useful, practical applications.
