DAY 22 OF 32

# Two Choices Bryan Dench READY “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” — Deuteronomy 30:19–20 SET As athletes, we make choices all the time: what to do with the ball, where to pass, where to shoot, and where our position is. We choose how much effort to put into training and competing. We choose what to do with our time away from our sport. We choose our friends and who to hang out with. These decisions can turn out well or turn out bad. Some bad decisions don’t last very long. Maybe if you make a bad play in a game, you can do better the next time. Maybe if you make a bad choice in a friend, you’ll be able to move away from that and have a better friend next time. These are all important decisions and some that can affect your life, but none of these are your most important decision. The most important question you’ll have to face as an athlete and Christian is how you will commit your life. Who will you serve? Will you put your faith in Jesus Christ and give your life to Him? There are only two choices. One leads to life and joy, and one doesn’t. God calls you to make your choice. It will make all the difference, not just in your life, but forever. Make the right choice. GO * Have you seen how a choice you make in a game can turn out to be good or bad? * How about other choices: have you seen those turn out for good or not? * If the choice you make about your life will last forever, how will you choose? WORKOUT Matthew 10:38–39; Luke 16:13 OVERTIME "Dear Lord, You show me that my choices matter now and for always. Draw me to You. Help me choose the path of life by loving You with all my heart and giving my life to Jesus. Amen."
