When we come upon a list of names or genealogy in scripture, we may be tempted to just skip it or at best skim over the section. We may think they don’t mean anything to us, and on the surface, they probably don’t. But for this once, just struggle through and read each name and try and picture the person. Why? Well, because our God is a God who sees. He knows each of these people and all the ones they represent. He remembers the day they left captivity and everything about them. And if your name was on that list, you know He’d remember you too. Actually, He does see you and knows you, better than you know yourself. So for today, read the names. Thank God for His faithfulness. Thank Him for seeing and knowing. Thank Him for leading you out of the captivity of sin and death and into the freedom of love and life. Thank Him for being in every detail. Just be THANKFUL - for today.
