How to Shape Your World

DAY 1 OF 5

God Creates Welcome to the How to Shape the World Bible Plan! Today, you’re going to learn how God created the world in the first place. It’s kind of a big deal. And there’s a good portion of reading from the Bible. You’ll find out from Genesis how God created the world and everything in it, and then you’ll get to dip in to a special portion of Scripture from Ephesians. As you read, you might begin to wonder what those two portions of the Bible have to do with one another. Don’t worry! You’ll learn that as you continue through this Bible Plan. Those verses from Ephesians are going to be a big focus of this entire Bible Plan. Before you dig into them, enjoy this version of that verse put to music! Note: this video uses the New International Version (NIV) translation of the Bible. It might help you to choose the NIV for today’s Scripture reading. Ask yourself: * What did God say when He finished creating everything? (You might need to finish your Bible reading for today and then come back to this question. See Genesis 1:31 for help.) * What do I say when I look at myself? Am I saying the same thing God says when He looks at me? Challenge yourself: Grab a paper and something to write with. Come up with a list of at least 10 things that are good about the way God created you and the world around you. Hang that list somewhere you’ll see it every day as you read through this Bible Plan. Pray: God, thank You for creating everything, including me! Everything You made is good. Everything You made is absolutely amazing to me, actually! Help me to see this world—and everything and everyone in it—as Your good creation. In Jesus’ name, amen.
