Strengthen your faith and overcome the circumstances

DAY 7 OF 7

# Don’t give up on what God has promised you Today’s Word: He took him outside and said: “Look up at the sky and count the stars – if indeed you can count them”. Then he said to him: “So shall your offspring be”. (Genesis 15:5) In this passage, God encouraged Abraham by promising him a son. And from this son, He also promised such a great posterity, that Abraham could not even count. Looking at the scenery, God’s promise was impossible! His wife was barren and the two were already very old. Still, God commanded him to count the stars of heaven. How many times, when you asked God to perform a miracle, did you get discouraged because you thought everything seemed to go in the opposite direction of what you expected? How many times has your natural logic blocked your belief and limited God’s action? Abraham, known as the “father of faith”, was also human and had his own longings. Even so, midway through, he and his wife faltered when they agreed to have a child on their own, through Hagar, Sara’s Egyptian servant. Ishmael was not the son of the promise and was born when Abraham was 86. After that, Abraham still waited many years until he had Isaac in his arms, which happened when he was 100 years old. During all this time, what went through Abraham’s mind? Certainly, like us, he was also tempted to give up and no longer believe in God’s promise. That’s why God directed him to look up, upward, to Him. God commanded Abraham, just as he saw the stars, to visualize the extent of his miracle. You too, while you are waiting, need to look up and see, with your spiritual eyes, what God has reserved for you. Don’t be discouraged! You can be sure that when your blessing comes, it will be infinitely bigger than your best expectation! Prayer: Father, it was You, Lord who did all things. I know you’re a creative God and you love me! I know I can confidently hope for my miracle, because the answer will come in your time, which is perfect. I decide to wait on you and I thank you for everything that will happen in my life. In Jesus name. Amen.

Strengthen your faith and overcome the circumstances

We often fall into the error of just “wishing” for something to change and we think this is enough for God to act. Of course God knows us deeply and takes pleasure in seeing us fulfilled, but the way we relate to Him is ...
