## The Bible Made Real The Bible is a family story full of the raw, lived details of a flawed humanity wanting God to remember them as His children, and yet constantly forgetting God. This family story leads into a bigger story of grace, mercy, love and salvation through Jesus that we are all invited into. Living the Gospel for me is living from the bigger story with the knowledge that Jesus has loved us all with an everlasting love and continues to faithfully offer that love to us (Jeremiah 31:3). This love is like being held up by a father’s strong arms on the best and the worst days of life – ‘… underneath are his everlasting arms… ’ (Deuteronomy 33:27 NIV). I have had the opportunity, through my work as a nurse and by invitation, to be present with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives. Grace, mercy and salvation are all wrapped up in the redeeming love of God and on another person’s darkest days, God has allowed me to show His love in small redeeming acts of practical kindness while being attentively present. Even though I’m a flawed human, God has loved me and I am able to show that love of God to others. The Bible is made real to me in those moments when we get to carry the light of Christ in a dark place and people see it and know it to be God’s love. #### Written by KATH HENRY
