"Learning to Trust"
Of all the possible responses to God here, Abraham’s is perhaps the most surprising. In the past he’s laughed, argued or modified God’s plan to suit himself. Now, when the stakes seem highest, he simply obeys.
It’s no wonder he is held up in Hebrews 11 as a hero of faith. What Abraham does though is reflect the faithfulness of God. He trusts because God has proven trustworthy, time and time again. That’s not to say it’s an automatic response; it is still something he must choose to do.

When players in The Aetherlight find out that Alexander is about to surrender Irving, because the Scarlet Man asked him to, there’s a sense of urgency to it. The inclination is to stop him! It’s a great opportunity to discuss what trust looks like, and how we experience the faithfulness of God.
