The Christmas Lights
Remember we said that Martin Luther brought a Christmas tree into his home? Remember we said that the reasoning behind it was because the stars were shining through the branches, reminding him of Jesus coming down from heaven?
What else do the shining stars remind us of? The glory of God.
Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
As Martin Luther carefully lit the candles and placed them on the tree, he and the children got to experience the glory of God inside their home. Just as you and I get to place the Christmas lights on our trees, so it should remind us that we get to experience the same in our home.
