There's Hope For TodaySample

My new day is as blank as the white screen on my notebook. The sun is rising. What will today’s blank page hold?
Will it be interruption, cancellation, inspiration, vanilla or all thirty-one flavors? Where will my emotions take me today – anger, joy, compassion, disgust, frustration or hope? What will I witness, dismiss or embrace? What will I miss? Will I give or receive, rest or strive, reap or sow, like or love – or hate? Will I lift up or let down; look up or despair; rise up or fall short; step up or put off? How will I do in the daddy department today? Will my husbanding make the grade?
I’ll make hundreds of little decisions; choose attitudes and reactions. I’ll prioritize my emotions and grant them an excellent or lousy expression. What will this blank page hold at day’s end? I need to decide what I can and what I will because it’s time to leave this corner table in the coffee shop and drive the last mile to the office.
Life is so complicated. I need a simple ethos to over-write it all. That’s where God’s Word is to be richly applied. Today, I’ll clothe myself in a Psalm, tomorrow – in a Proverb. From Genesis to Revelation, God’s wisdom, strength, and comfort awaits application to the white page of a brand new day.
