"True Riches" How can people be rich when they suffer trials and tribulation and live in poverty? The answer is simple. The riches of this world are not the riches of My Father. His riches are peace in the midst of conflict, joy in the midst of sorrow, contentment in the midst of poverty, righteousness in the midst of evil, love in the midst of hatred, and forgiveness when a person is subjected to offense and pain. An abundance of money or possessions does not elevate you in God’s sight. In fact, it only increases your obligation to be a generous steward of that wealth. To whom much is given, much is required. My followers in ancient Smyrna faced more adversity and suffering and lived in greater poverty than any other first-century church. And yet their love for Me and their works of righteousness were a shining example to My followers throughout Asia. Dear one, I want you to focus on spreading the Father’s riches. Let His peace, joy, righteousness, love, and forgiveness reign in your heart and flow out to others. Then you will be rich in His kingdom.
