Encouragement is a powerful weapon against discouragement, anxiety, depression, fear, anger, and stress. Peace is another powerful weapon against these things. God’s peace guards our hearts and surpasses understanding (Php 4:7).⁣ ⁣ The early church experienced this peace. They were strengthened as they focused on the peace God provided. As they kept their focus on the Lord, they were encouraged. The ministry of the Holy Spirit in their lives individually and corporately allowed them to experience this peace, encouragement, and strength. ⁣ ⁣ When we keep our focus on God, we are better able to receive and experience the peace He longs to give us. He is gracious and caring and longs to meet us in our need. For the early church, keeping their focus on God allowed them to continually be encouraged and continually increase in number. God is still faithful today. He will encourage us in the same way He encouraged the early church as we keep our hearts and lives focused on Him.⁣ ⁣ Father God, thank You for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank You for encouraging me when I most need it. I ask for Your peace to overwhelm my heart and for encouragement from Your people. Open my eyes to see who I can encourage today. Amen.
