## March 24 – By Facing Outward ### Read Matthew 7:12; Philippians 2:3–4 ### Reflect Whenever we become self-absorbed, those around us can be neglected and deprived of the love that Jesus wants to share through us. God has strategically placed needy people all around us. How do we go from focusing on ourselves  to emphasizing the concerns of others? Following what is popularly called the “Golden Rule”—doing unto others as you would have them do to you—helps us to heed Paul’s instruction to consider others more significant than ourselves. We cannot truly be Christ followers unless we are concerned for the needs and interests of others. ### Engage Read today’s Scripture passages. Say or write them out in your own words, considering the following questions: · What do they say about God? · What do they say about us? · Is there a promise to trust? · Is there a command to obey? · How will I apply these Scriptures to my life? · Who will I show that I care by sharing these truths? ### Memorize Now read this week’s memory verse, Psalm 100:2. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.
