DAY 13 OF 14

“Part 4: A Glorious Future - Stay Your Course” As Moses’ successor, Joshua’s faith came under pressure. God had prepared Joshua for this moment long before it ever happened. When Joshua received his call it should have been so exciting, so why did God need to keep telling him to be strong and courageous? Was he missing something? In fact, he was missing thirty-one somethings! Joshua had thirty-one kings in his future he needed to defeat in order to enter into the Promised Land. Every one of these were unknown mountains that Joshua would need to move in order to possess the glorious future promised to his people. The Bible talks about faith that is strong enough to move mountains. Jesus says in Matthew 21:22, “If you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” We will all encounter ‘mountains’ in our lifetime. Maybe your mountains have names like “debt,” “marriage breakdown,” “depression,” or “cancer.” Sometimes, this mountain occupies every waking hour, obstructing your view of the path ahead. The only way to stay your course is to hold on to God’s Word and stand strong in your faith every day. Challenges are opportunities to conquer and become testimonies. The only way to defeat thirty-one kings is one at a time. In order to stay strong and on course, you must confront the enemy. 1 Peter 5:8, “The devil roams about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour”. The enemy is out to sabotage your destiny and pull you away from God. John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” The best decision you can make is this: The devil may not have a foothold in my life. You can spend a lot of time fleeing from the devil, when you should be standing your ground. The Bible teaches us to submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee. (James 4:7) In order to stay your course in the midst of setbacks and challenges, refuse to allow the enemy to derail you and trust God to lift you above your current perspective and circumstances, to His promise of victory. Prayer: You have put the enemy under my feet, I am not under his feet. I take my position of authority over his strategies to derail me from my glorious future in Christ and I praise and thank You Lord that all Your promises in Christ are “Yes” and “Amen”.
