Love God Greatly: BeatitudesSample

This is a promise worth holding on to: everything broken will one day be redeemed. In Revelation, we are given a stunning picture of the day when God will make everything right: our distance from Him will be destroyed, our suffering will be wiped away, death will be defeated, and every painful thing about our lives will pass away. In the midst of such beautiful promises, it might be easy to miss the context: the dwelling place of God is now with us. God will not only reconcile our relationship with Him, but He will make us into "His people." He will gather up lost and lonely individuals into one community and take ownership of them. We are awaiting a day without pain and suffering, but we are also awaiting the day we will truly experience the kingdom of heaven, the day when God's promises are fully realized, and the people of God dwell with Him forever. Thank You, God, that You will eternally comfort and heal Your people. Help me to desire this future, Your kingdom, more than anything else on earth. Give me the strength to endure suffering now, so that I can point more people to this future You have promised.
