Walking With Him Daily Acts Bible Plan

DAY 21 OF 28

Day 21 Read – Acts 21 Acts 21:13 - 14 "Then Paul replied, 'What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready, not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.' Since he would not be persuaded, we stopped talking and simply said, 'The Lord's will be done!'" In today's passage in Acts 21, again, those who love Paul spend time trying to convince him not to walk into Jerusalem where he will be taken captive. They are doing this out of love for Paul, because they do not want to see Paul suffer even though they knew that the Holy Spirit had said that Paul would be bound in Jerusalem. We have to be careful what side of God's will we come down on. There will likely be times in our lives where we see loved ones following what is God's will (or is believed to be God's will) in their lives and it hurts us. We either have to let them go or, we know it may put them in harm’s way and when this happens, we have to be careful as to how we respond to this. While on a personal level this may hurt, we have to seek God's face and let the Spirit work in their life. We have to be sure that we don't make it harder than it already is to follow God's will and not give them a push to step out of line. We have limited vision compared to God and He can put all pieces together that we cannot see. Seek His face. Sometimes all you can say is the Lord's will be done.
