Absence We have been talking a lot about light and how God calls us to BE THE LIGHT. The world can be a dark place. It makes sense that there needs to be light, and even more sense that God would want us to be a part of bringing light into the darkness. But what is darkness? Is it measurable? Does it take up space? What is it made of? We know what darkness is. Absence. Darkness is absence. Specifically, darkness is the absence of light. If there is no light to fill a space, then it is dark. The only thing that changes is the amount of light. The space is the same, but it is more dangerous because in a dark space, you can’t see. Darkness is just the absence of light. All that it takes to transform a dark space is to introduce light into it. It really is that simple. If you want someplace to stop being so dark, then all you have to do is bring in some light. That’s how God sees the world. There are places that are dark. They are dark because they are missing the light. God’s desire is that all of the dark spaces would be filled with light, and His plan to accomplish this is to send people like you and me into all of the dark places. You don’t have to have any special skills. You just have to shine, Because the only thing making the world dark, Is absence. So be present, and shine. 1\. THINK ABOUT IT! What are some of the dark places that you go to regularly? (School, work, home, etc) 2\. REFLECT! How can your presence impact the darkness? 3\. PRAY! Father, help me to see where I can shine today. I want to make a difference. Help me shine Your light into all of the places that are missing light.
