Love God Greatly - 1 & 2 PeterSample

Peter uses 2 vivid descriptions from Proverbs to describe a person who has been freed from sin through Jesus but who returns to the entanglement of sin: a dog returning to his own vomit, and a washed pig wallowing in the mud. He states that it is better to have not known Jesus at all, then for that person to have experienced the goodness of God and the freedom that He offers, yet choose to go back to the sins she was delivered from. That person will be held more accountable by God, because she chose to reject Him after knowing Him intimately.
What habitual sin has you tempted to return to your own vomit? Will you pray today and ask God to move swiftly against the attack?
