God Of Wonders Family Devotional For Kids

DAY 5 OF 5

The Red Sea Crossing After the final plague killed the firstborn sons in Egypt, the Egyptians were scared. They urged the Israelites to leave quickly. As millions of people left Egypt, taking all their belongings and livestock, the Egyptians sent them away with arms full of treasure! But once again Pharaoh’s heart hardened, and he sent his army after God’s people. With Pharoah’s forces in hot pursuit, God split the waters of the Red Sea, allowing God’s people to cross. But when Pharaoh’s army attempted to cross, God caused the walls of water to collapse and destroy the military of Pharoah in a single blow. ///IMAGE HERE/// The life of Moses features one of the greatest deliverance stories in all of history, a nation of slaves set free through the waters of the Red Sea. Why do you think freedom is so important to God? As you discuss, remember that God has made us to be free! And because of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, He has made a way for us all to find freedom from sin and death. “Jesus replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.’” – John 8:34-36 (NLT) Explore the full [ devotion here! ](https://hello.sharefaith.com/kids-youversion-god-of-wonders) [Illustrations included in this devotional are not visible in this view.
