Graze: Finding Satisfaction in the ShepherdSample

The people in today’s story are compared to sheep without a shepherd. This metaphor would have meant a lot more to people in Jesus’s day than it does today, but suffice it to say sheep are completely dependent upon their shepherds, vulnerable, helpless. When Jesus saw the crowd, He didn’t see personal inconvenience, but a need He could meet, and He did. Jesus always meets the needs of those who let Him, not necessarily their wants, but their needs.
If you have never put your faith in Jesus for salvation from the consequences of your sin (separation from God), then your greatest need right now is to be rescued. If you have put your faith in Jesus for salvation, your greatest need is the wisdom necessary to live a life that glorifies God. You already have the power to do so by His Holy Spirit, Who came to live inside you when you accepted God’s forgiveness made possible through Jesus and surrendered your life to follow Him in obedience. You just need to know what to do with it.
Thank God for always meeting your needs through Jesus.
