# Without A Vision Once Jesus begins to heal your heart, life starts looking much different than before. Instead of walking through life with an outlook based on fear, shame, and performance, you start to see life through the eyes of God—full of faith, hope, love, abundance, and opportunity. I love Proverbs 29:18 where it says “where there is no vision, the people perish” because there’s much more there than meets the eye. It’s such a key verse because the word vision that is used there is much more than just simply “sight” or “seeing.” The word actually means “prophetic revelation” or “spiritual understanding.” So as you read that verse again you begin to understand that without prophetic revelation, or without receiving real revelation and connection to the Holy Spirit, people perish—or more accurately, cast off restraint. When you think about somebody casting off restraint you can almost imagine someone running willy-nilly in desperation screaming, “Just get me out of here!” When you don't have vision in your life you run to and fro chasing money and opportunities. You spend your life in a desperate quest trying to be successful any way you can. The whole time the Holy Spirit is saying, “Listen, if you’ll just connect with Me and let Me download some prophetic revelation—some real understanding into your life about what you are designed to do and what the Kingdom is all about, you won't have to cast off restraint. It is possible to run with focus and power toward a clear vision.” Understanding the vision for your life is also based on being able to sense with spiritual eyes. It’s not just what you see when looking at the natural world—it takes connection with the Holy Spirit and connection with your unique self so that you can begin to see, hear, sense, and feel what the Spirit of God is saying. As you meditate on these scripture verses today the Holy Spirit wants to begin supernaturally downloading His vision for your life—one that is in line with how you were created and He wants to start right now. As He does, and as you accept this, write it down just like God instructed Habakkuk to do! God’s vision for your life will become the vivid measuring stick by which you can begin evaluating everything in your life. It will become your North Star guiding you to fulfill God’s unique plan for your life as an artist in His Kingdom.
