I’ve discovered that nobody is naturally a great person. You aren’t born great. No, you become great by attaching your life to a great cause, a great purpose, and a great dream. You need something bigger than yourself to draw you out of yourself! Ephesians 1:18 says, “May God enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see the hope that his calling holds for you” (NJB) . What are “the eyes of your mind”? When the Apostle Paul wrote this, he wasn’t talking about your physical eyes. He was talking about your imagination. He was saying, “I pray that your imagination will come alive, and in faith you’ll be able to see the dream God has for your life.” God wants to give you his dream for your life. That’s your calling! You will have hope when you understand what God has made you for, what he’s built you for, the vision he has for your life. If you want significance in your life, if you want satisfaction in your life, if you want fulfillment in your life here’s what you need to do: Stop following your dream and start following God’s dream for your life. If you can’t imagine your calling, if you can’t dream God’s dream, you are not living the abundant life. You’re just existing. Are you ready to discover God’s dream for your life? Pray: Dear God, I want my life to become great by attaching myself to a great cause, a great purpose, and a great dream. Enlighten the eyes of my mind that I might see the hope you hold for me. I want my imagination to come alive and in faith, I want to see the dream you have for me. Thank you for this gift of imagination. Help me to use it to see your dream for my life and follow it. I am ready to discover the dream you have for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
