Restore: God is restoring life The last few years have seen some pretty turbulent times. I’m sure we’ve all felt concerned: What’s going on? Will things ever go back to “normal”? Who’s in charge here…? We can look around the world and think that the weather is in control, or wealthy people, or world leaders. But here we get the bigger picture: Jesus is on the throne. And creation is doing his bidding. Another reassuring part of the vision that we see here is that Jesus says, ‘I am making everything new.’ This is a time when Jesus will dwell among us, a time beyond tears and death. When he will make everything new – and it’s not down to our efforts or persistence. Let that image dwell with you today, and feel a sense of release from the burden of you having to restore life. Lord Jesus, we ask you to come to inhabit us – be the center of who we are, and all that we do. Thank you that your burden is light, and that you are the one who wields ultimate power on this earth – now and in the future. Thank you for restoring life today, and your promise of ultimate restoration in the future. Amen. Peter Shaw, Tearfund
