We will see the significance of Bethlehem, reflect on Mary in Elizabeth’s home, meditate on the manger, and hear Jesus' invitation for us to come home to Him.

Advent is a church tradition to help believers across the globe prepare their hearts for the arrival of Jesus. Over four weeks, we’ll look at themes of hope, peace, joy, and love in the biblical narrative leading up to Jesus’ birth, and how these themes can be applied to our Christmas season this year.

The 25 days leading up to the celebration of Jesus’ birth are pretty remarkable. We get to look back at how God prepared the way for Jesus and delivered on His promise of a Savior. The Christmas season can be an incredibly stressful time of the year. With all the busyness of the Holidays, it’s easy to lose focus on the true meaning of Christmas, the coming of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. The Christmas at Graystone Bible Reading Plan continues our study through the gospel of Luke and helps keep our focus on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament, the people of God looked forward in anticipation to the coming of the Messiah. This Advent required lots of waiting, trusting, and patience. Even now we are in a season of Advent, aren’t we? In this 4-week Love God Greatly Online Advent Bible study, we will look at some of the Old Testament promises of the Savior and the humility that would characterize Him. We will study why He came and the response of various people in the Christmas story, including how we too should respond to Jesus and His coming.

The Essential Journey to Bethlehem provides you with one short scripture reading each day followed by a reflection question or two designed to help you see how God promised the world a Savior and then kept that promise. Join us on the journey from Old Testament prophecies about Christ's birth to the blessed stable in Bethlehem where he was born.

Through studying the names of God, we get to know our Savior more fully and spend time adoring Him for who He is. God shows Himself to us through His names because of His great love for us. We, in turn, have the privilege of loving, worshiping, and resting in Him on an even deeper level during this reflective time of year.

How we posture ourselves in the Christmas season makes all the difference in our experience of the miracle of the Advent. Be inspired to surrender to Jesus, refocus on Him, and embrace the grace of our King in this 4-week daily devotional as you move through five different postures: Eyes Fixed, Head Up, Knees Bent, Hands Open, and Arms Wide.

Whatever December looks like for you, wherever you are, whoever you are with or not with, our hope is that you will set aside time every day over the next four weeks to open God’s Word. We will have short devotionals each day to help you reflect on the day’s reading. We pray that you will see Jesus in a new light this Christmas.

Matthew’s Gospel opens the New Testament by brilliantly introducing the culmination of the entire Old Testament story.
